It took me a while but I’ve finally settled on the name of the setting I’m using in two different parallel campaigns with two different groups of friends – Tierracaida (pronounced as tea-YER-rah-ka-EE-da but commonly as CHAY-rah-KAY-da). It’s church-speak for Fallen Land.
The powerful and far-reaching Church of Elprimero (official: el-pree-MEH-roh; common: al-pry-MAY-row) uses this term to describe the world they all live in, alluding to their belief that the world is in a dark age and the forces of evil are on the rise, slowly turning the world into hell on earth.
Officially, the nobles call their lands as Grantierra (official: gran-tea-YER-rah; common: GRAN-chay-rah), the great land, but its common use is steadily falling out of favour due to the repetitive mentions of Tierracaida in Church preaching.
